The airlines are now considering charging for carry-on luggage. Yes, the bags we carefully pack so we don't have to check luggage might turn to the dark side. Some airlines are already charging for this, some are not. Thank you, Southwest Airlines. Prior to this initial shock of an extra $25 to check a bag, I would over-pack. Or I'd bring a few options. This year I went to London and used one carry-on that fit in the overhead, and one backpack that fit under my seat. I packed just what I needed expecting to reuse my jeans and a dress. I felt so much better with less stuff. But, I'm a mom with teens who could also pack their own carry-on. Think about the families that have little kids with multiple needs; some people need to overpack. The thought of them paying for this is wrong. There are services that will ship luggage to your destination, but again, it's another cost she has to incur, and from the looks of things it's might end up being the better option. Funny how the airlines wouldn't dream of charging me to bring my wallet inboard.

Chimneys and fireplaces should be inspected and cleaned every year. Look for a licensed professional chimney sweep in the phone book. You should also examine the exterior of your chimney for cracks in the masonry or bricks.
