My youngest daughter is in a fortunate situation. She has parents that have been through their first, second and third challenging life situations with previous siblings. Life lessons that involve responsibility, honesty, studying, serving, helping etc. have all been handled, well and not so well with previous kids. Her older sister paved the way to the ins and outs to parenting a teen with a cell phone. She also put a good dent in quite a few cars and paved the way for a current situation. I'll be making an appointment to get an estimate an automotive body shop this week. Yes, everyone is ok, she had one of those 'not so little' scrapes that completely covers one side of a car. This is the result of pulling into a parking space she thought she could fit into. Not knowing the sound she was hearing was the a concrete wall rubbing against the finish of the car is something I really think they should teach in driver's education.

HybridMom.com recommends these tips when traveling with teens:
• Have teens plan the day; go to places they really want to see instead of dragging them to places they could care less about
• Each member of family must bring a playlist and/or music
• Set limits on cell phone and electronic use
• Always have food and drink on hand
• Don't make anyone clean; make this different from being at home
• Set a gift shop budget
