I need to practice discipline when apple picking. I always want to pick more apples than I require. There are so many options and my burlap bag used for picking fills up fast. I like picking them so much I get some for myself, workmates, neighbors and I plan a day dedicated to cooking with them. It's a great experience to be in an orchard surrounded by numerous trees that all offer a bevy of apples with different flavors. These trees bear sweet products like mackintosh and granny smith to name a few more here. These trees can be compared to the radio dial. I'll never forget picking an apple off a tree after a rain storm, the clean, crisp goodness burst in my mouth. It must have been a moment if I'm writing about it here. My daughter will always remember using a picking pole to reach apples that were on top branches only to be attacked by a bee that was not happy about being disturbed. This sting hurt badly and put a temporary halt to our good day. There was a disclaimer when we entered the orchard that bees are in the trees and there were bags of ice waiting for those who got stung. Sure the sting has faded but not the memory.
Don't sting her when she's picking from your branches. She Buzz Words
