Summer Mom Guilt

Summer break brings about a whole new routine, whether you have kids or not. After the last day of school the entire community, commute, and daily schedule takes a big 360. How a woman reacts and reboots sets a tone for the next few months, which are usually anything but lazy and hazy. Maybe she'll get a few days like that, if she's lucky.
The start of summer means some Moms will start sleeping in, hanging out by the pool, and spending quality time with their children. For working moms, it's the beginning of another week just like the one before, but with a new plan for the kids. It's quite possible that she's still waking up at6:30 AMand rushing out the door while giving the kids a piece of toast and driving them to Summer Camp, where they'll be crammed into a room full of other kids whose Moms are also feeling the same guilt.
Social media increases the stress for this mom. While she reads status updates like:
"Spending all day in our pool," or, "Loving this time with my babies," or"Summer fun is the bestest..." she can't post her true thoughts without being seen as #bitter.
Don't fall for the obvious. Spend summer with the every-mom, reminding her that whether it involves a selfie of her feet on a lounge chair by the pool, or at the library after dinner, all of this time well spent.
You have a great opportunity to remind her of the good, every song and every station element is a feel good way to rock her day. And if you are seeking to super serve her, maybe think about beating Buzzfeed to the post and give her "25 Ways to Remove with Mommy Guilt" or "Love and Tips for Working Mothers in the summer."
