What went wrong with your summer? Now there's a compelling question. Be careful what you ask for, because you'll receive all the details on the poison oak allergic reactions that took three months to heal, babies that came early, nanny's that did not work out, family vacations that had a bunch of misunderstandings, jobs gone awry, and sleep over camp quarrels.
But despite what went wrong, a lot went right and it's not over yet. Americans continue to prioritize traveling as a family. Both Disney parks have been at capacity all summer, and the volume at airports, on highways, and public transportation are at an all time high.
According to a recent AAA survey, more than one-third of Americans (35%) are planning to take a vacation of 50 miles or more away from home with family members. While most family travelers (70%) are planning to take one or two vacations, there is a significant increase this year in the number of Americans who say they are planning to take three or more vacations. Families now view the value of traveling as a way to bond and reconnect amidst the madness of daily life.
What do you say we create an even higher statistic for the 'three or more vacations' category? Aloha!
