I enjoyed reading the post by Social Media Today about Twitter's 10 most retweeted tweets of all time.
You will see some of the usual people who would be suspected to get this type of engagement.
However, when you look more closely at the message of each tweet, I would argue it speaks to a greater depth of passion that makes an impact far beyond simply using the tools and mechanics to elicit a response, or trying to plan a "viral" campaign.
The power lies in being fully present and allowing others to be right there with you.
This isn't about a social media strategy. It's about being human and allowing your thoughts, feelings, and emotions to be expressed while traveling on this journey we call life - no matter your status. In sharing, you gain something by empowering others.
Each of the tweets is communicated in a way and connects because of the ability to be:
- About the moment
It's the difference between attempting to force something to happen through the old ideas of marketing manipulation vs. offering meaning by simply being real.
It's the true essence, and the very definition of social ... being human.
So, what would others be able to see in peeking behind your posts and tweets?
Is it real or manufactured ... the answer will give you the solution on whether it's worth sharing, or not.
