Can't Buy Him Like
-
A gubernatorial candidate in Maine boasted that his popularity online was WAY ahead of his opposition, and he touted how many "likes" he had on Facebook. Turns out he allegedly paid $16,000 to promote the page, which is one way to run up your "like" count. Anyone can buy "likes," directly or through paid promotion. It's engagement that matters, and the candidate who ran up his "like" total trails his opponents badly in that category. (Portland Press Herald)
