Come to think of it, it's true: Nobody (okay, almost nobody; the Angels' Hector Santiago is an exception) throws a screwball anymore. In the '70s, it was huge. Now, pitchers don't want to get hurt. But is the screwball any more dangerous than what they throw now? One test said no, it's actually less stressful on your arm and shoulder than a standard curve.
