You know all those dire warnings about sitting too much and sedentary work and how even if you exercise, a desk job will kill you? A new study by the American Cancer Society, the Cooper Institute, and the University of Texas -- they're pretty reputable across the board -- says that if you exercise, don't worry so much about sitting too much. They say that the previous studies didn't take fitness into account. And as for these researchers, they've been tracking this since 1981 and when fitness is taken into account, the only thing sedentary time increases is the ratio of triglycerides to HDL cholesterol. So, get off your spreading ass and exercise if you have to sit most of the day. (New York Daily News)
