Just Look For Internal Fontanelles

Researchers at the University of New Mexico are trying to figure out why some children commit violent crimes, like the teens who killed a homeless guy or another who killed his family. And what they say they're finding is underdeveloped brains. They say the brains they see in scans of young crime suspects look five years underdeveloped. The underdeveloped areas are the parts of the brain that hold emotions like empathy or the ability to connect consequences with actions. This might lead to a treatment, or it could lead to kids being scanned and instantly enrolled in Future Criminals of America. (KOAT-TV/Albuquerque)
