And The Niners Can Use The Extra Money To Patch Up That Turf. Oof

Cities do stupid, foolish, expensive things to lure sports franchises. In Santa Clara, where the 49ers' new Levi Stadium is located, they put the new place adjacent to the popular Great America amusement park, which generates revenue for the city in the form of a percentage of the gate. But that meant that game days would be insane for parking there. So the solution was to close the theme park on game days and let the 49ers use all the parking lots. And THAT means that the city will receive zero on those Sundays. No problem, because nobody goes to theme parks on Sundays... oh, wait. (San Francisco Chronicle)
