On The Other Hand, People DO Need To Know Tennis Players' Position On Everything
-
Sometimes, with social media, you have to stop before you post something and think, do I really need to do this? Is this what I want to do? Am I prepared for a reaction? Tennis star Andy Murray says he isn't sorry for having an opinion but regrets the way he tweeted support for Scottish independence, which drew hostile and vile reactions. He has a right to his opinion, and people can agree or disagree, but you know when you pick a side that the opposition will come at you hard. And in his case, he had to realize that if the vote was "no," which it was, he'd have to go back and play for the U.K. after taking a position that English fans might not appreciate. The upshot is, you gotta consider the reaction you'll get before deciding on whether to tweet something. (BBC)
