Actually, 'Not Mayo' Might Be A Better Marketing Slogan. But I Don't Like Mayo
-
Is it really "Just Mayo" if it isn't mayo? The hot new mayo substitute us being sued by Hellmann's/Best Foods because there's no egg in Just Mayo, yet the label shows an egg and it's being marketed as if it's real. I saw Just Mayo in a supermarket and thought it WAS mayo, so they have a point. But others wonder if the FDA's definition of mayo as vegetable oil, egg yolks, and lemon juice or vinegar is outdated and eclipsed by technology. (New York Times)
