If People Don't Show Up To Shop, It'll All Go Away By Itself

We all complain about how stores are rushing Black Friday and opening on Thanksgiving and retail workers have to work and everything, but is it appropriate for a state legislature to ban stores from opening before 9 pm on Thanksgiving? Seems like a bad move, but then again, we hear about people who are told that they either have to work on Thanksgiving or lose their jobs, and that's unfair, too. (On the other hand, grocery store workers and restaurant staff have always worked on Thanksgiving, so....) (Newark Star-Ledger/NJ Advance Media)
