Oh, You Wanted It BACK. Our Bad
-
In retrospect, the rescue group realizes now that they really should have reunited the dog with its owner rather than rushing to euthanize it. Here's what happened: The dog ran away. The guy searched and searched, and finally, after 11 months, the dog was found -- someone had adopted the dog and happened to see the Craigslist plea. So the new owners returned the dog to the shelter, the real owner filled out the application to re-adopt the pet, and then... they killed the dog, because someone decided it was too aggressive. And they sent him a cold letter informing him of such. Gee, thanks. Remember, the shelter folks are volunteers. They may be well-meaning, but some of them -- be thankful that most are good -- aren't as sharp as you'd hope. (KIRO-TV/Seattle)
