Someone called police and said some creep in a minivan was trying to get her child to get in his vehicle. So the cops came, and everyone was alarmed until the cops investigated and discovered that the guy was in fact a contract driver for the school system and was a fill-in merely trying to take the child to school, which was his job. This would have been more evident had the school system not told police that nobody connected with them would be driving a minivan, which is true for their direct employees but not for the contract guys, who drive taxis, vans, SUVs, whatever they have. Problem is, by the time they figured it all out, the poor guy's picture was splashed all over the local news. How many people will see the retraction? (KOMO-TV/Seattle)
