At Least Store Them Outside. In A Non-Flammable Container. Away From The Walls

Here's sweeps News You Can Use: This guy found out the hard way that leaving 9-volt batteries in your junk drawer or a bag or something can cause a fire. He'd been keeping old 9-volts in a paper bag for recycling, accidentally bumped it, and the metal contacts of two batteries contacted and shorted out, sending sparks off that caught the bag on fire. Freak accident? Maybe, but you don't want to keep those things sitting around loose. (KATU-TV/Portland)
