That's Okay, I'll Just Look At A Postcard Instead

A hiker died and another was hurt when a bluff collapsed at Point Reyes in Northern California. The area was posted as off-limits, but people hike out to the cliff anyway. As I absorbed that, I found this item about the "world's scariest footpath" reopening, and how it's been closed since four people died falling off the path, which clings close to the sides of a gorge and is quite obviously very, very dangerous. The reopening after 14 years, with some safety concessions, is because people really want to take their chances just to say they did it. I can understand the allure of going someplace with a view you can't get any other way, but I draw the line at places that are clearly unsafe. (San Francisco Chronicle; WENN via KOMO-TV/Seattle)
