Do We Bring Up The Ray Rice Punishment Right Now Or Just Let That Sit There?
-
So, the Atlanta Falcons get fined $350,000 plus a 5th rounder for pumping in fake crowd noise, and the Browns get a four game suspension for the GM and a $250,000 fine but no lost draft pick for "Textgate," in which GM Ray Farmer was caught texting coaches during games (which is against the rules). Doesn't it seem that the Browns' infraction was more serious? Okay, they say Farmer wasn't texting anything that affected the games, but what's really fun is that if you followed this over the last few months, Farmer WAS second-guessing the team's own offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to other coaches, and the assumption is that he was pushing for Johnny Football to replace Brian Hoyer. Whatever happened, the fact that these fines were issued on the same day raises the question of what the NFL thinks -- and you think -- the infractions should be worth.
