You visit or live in a country, you're under their laws. And if those laws are draconian, well, it's up to them. And so, here's a New Zealand dad going to the media protesting the terrible conditions his son, a bar owner in Myanmar, is experiencing while serving two years in jail for insulting Buddha. The insult? Using a picture of Buddha wearing headphones to promote a cheap drinks night at the bar. Silly? Yeah, but in a country where it's illegal to depict a religious icon like that, you're not going to find sympathy saying you didn't know. It's what you're going to deal with if you do business in certain nations. (ABC Australia)
