Ask Bill Buckner If It Ever Gets Easier
-
You do not want to be Boston University goaltender Matt O'Connor after Saturday's NCAA men's hockey championship game, in which his miscue -- an own goal after he inexplicably dropped the puck and it kicked off his skate and into the net -- tied the game, with another Providence goal two minutes later sealing the Friars' victory. I mean, dropping the puck into your own net while trying to clear it? The guy credited with the goal was already headed towards the bench, saw his teammates celebrating, and had no idea what had happened. Can an athlete ever recover from a mistake like that?
