I Booked An Aisle Seat. I Want An Aisle Seat. You Can't Have My Aisle Seat
-
This article says that it's become problematic to swap airplane seats in the "hi, I'd like to sit next to my child, can we switch seats?" manner. More people are saying no, and because different seats might even cost more for, say, more legroom, you can't blame someone who booked far in advance, selected a seat specifically where he or she wanted if he or she says no to someone who wants to swap. I'll swap if I don't end up far back and keep an aisle seat. Otherwise, unless your story's REALLY compelling, or you're willing to pay, no, I'm staying put. (New York Times)
