The FDA is telling Kind -- the folks who make those granola-y bars that are a little expensive and allegedly better for you than candy bars -- that at least four versions of the product can't call itself healthy. Too much fat, they say. Kind says that the fat comes from nuts, which ARE good for you. There's more: The "plus" protein bars don't have enough additional protein for the FDA, and the agency says the labels can't say "good source of fiber†or “no trans fats.†I think this is a tempest in a fair-trade teapot, but anyone who thinks any of these "healthy" bars are much better than a Snickers, well, enjoy.
