Welcome To San Pedro! Greetings From Some Dermatologist
-
San Pedro, CA, the part of Los Angeles all the way down by the harbor, is a working class town, mostly, but it's trying to attract more upscale business and residents. Problem: The main entrance to town, the terminus of the 110 freeway, takes you smack in front of a massive billboard and small, ramshackle building. The city has purchased the building to tear it down and now wants the billboard gone. But is just tearing down one eyesore gonna make a difference, especially when spending a LOT of tax money building a pocket park right next to it only ended up establishing a homeless encampment? For people outside the area, the topic is the eyesore you want gone from your town. (Daily Breeze)
