A Safe, Clean Toilet Is An Inalienable Right, Isn't It?

A lawsuit has been filed in the death of a contractor who was killed by carbon monoxide fumes while taking a dump in a bucket in the back of a truck. Not at all a joke, folks. He was part of a crew that does pressure washing, and when there's no bathroom on site, the company tells workers to use a bucket in the truck. The victim had to go, the nearest bathroom was an 8 minute drive and he didn't have a car, and when he used the bucket, someone ran the pressure washer, it kicked carbon monoxide fumes into the truck, and he died. Bathroom access is such a huge issue and nobody ever talks about it -- there are some areas where if you have to go, you're just out of luck, because we don't have enough facilities in enough places. This should be an issue in the 2016 election; make "more clean, safe public bathrooms in more places" a party plank and you'll get my vote. (KOIN-TV/Portland)
