Sports Shouldn't Be Scripted. Except Pro Wrestling, Because We Like That

50 players and officials from Italy's third and fourth division soccer leagues have been arrested in a match-fixing scandal, which is nothing new in Italian pro soccer. Every few years, there's a big scandal. It's been several years since there's been a point shaving or game fixing scandal in U.S. and U.K. sport; we're more likely to have doping and PED scandals, and we get outraged over that. But would you be surprised if a fixing scandal broke out in, say, the NFL, or NBA, or Premier League? Can the 1919 White Sox happen again? Or are players too well paid to be tempted? (BBC)
