On The Other Hand, What's The Rush?
-
The first impulse upon hearing about this teenager who's graduating high school and simultaneously earning eight associates degrees, which led to a full ride at the University of Texas, is to think that a) he's one of those no-life types who speeds through school and is destined to end up really screwed up as an adult, like a lot of prodigies do. But upon further review, it seems like this kid really just figured out how to take advantage of a program that lets smart kids in Texas take junior college courses for credit at both the college and high school -- basically, killing two birds with one stone. Perfectly sane, and doable for a smart kid. (CNN)
