Have you noticed that there are fewer and smaller holes in Swiss cheese? I didn't, because I hate Swiss cheese. I like most cheeses, but not Swiss... what? Oh, the holes. Yeah, they've figured out that mystery: not enough dirt. No, really, that's the answer: Used to be that microscopic hay particles from the dairy barn would be in the cheese and cause the holes to expand, and now, the process is too clean. So now you know, and I don't feel so bad about not eating what everyone else seems to love. (BBC)
