The Pope Himself Will Probably Be Able To Rent Cole Hamels' Place By Then
-
The Pope, as you know, is coming to Philadelphia in September, and that means housing panic, with the Mayor suggesting that they may need to establish tent cities to have places for everyone who shows up. You'd think, then, that there were no hotel rooms to be had for that weekend. You'd be wrong. There are a lot of hotel rooms available. It'll cost you if you want to stay right in Center City within walking distance of the Pope -- like $300-500 a night -- but you can find them, at good hotels. And I would assume that if you stay out on the Main Line or in Jersey, you can also find places to stay and just take the train in (although SEPTA should be a LOT of fun with those crowds). The topic here is about the times when they scare people away from coming to town -- Super Bowls, big conventions, major events -- and it's not really that bad after all. (WCAU-TV/Philadelphia)
