Privacy When You Need It, Open When You Don't. This Is Not Complicated

In reading yet another article about unisex public bathrooms and the accommodation of transgendered people, it struck me that I've seen the solution and it works: In Italy, one restaurant I went to had a single restroom that included a common washing area (sink, mirror, etc.) and four small individual toilet rooms, one for men, two for women, and one for the handicapped. It was... logical. You didn't see people doing their business, except for washing their hands, which is benign. It was... fine. No problem. And we'd stop debating this. (New York Times)
