Oh, Come On, 'The Ten Commandments' Doesn't Count

Using Metacritic and GoodReads scores, which aren't necessarily the best measures, Walt Hickey of Five Thirty Eight tried to use statistics to find "The 20 Most Extreme Cases Of ‘The Book Was Better Than The Movie’," with "Up In The Air" topping the chart. GoodReads is a lousy measure of a book's reception, though -- it favors Harry Potter and "50 Shades" over Joseph Conrad, for example -- but you could probably come up with a list of your own without any statistics. Ever read a book and go to the movie version and realize the book was way better? That's all you need to do this topic. (Five Thirty Eight)
