It's Usually Not Quite This Open, But There's Always This Tension

A Financial Times reporter wrote a story that disparaged HP boss Meg Whitman's comments at Davos, and an HP representative sent a nasty note to the reporter with a veiled threat of pulling advertising. Kudos to Financial Times for allowing the reporter to write a column telling HP off for the threat. It's cool, and rare, that a media company will back a reporter in a dispute with an advertiser, but here it is. Could you do the same? (Financial Times)
