You'd think that Bernie Sanders would be all for a city enacting any tax, but we have found a tax that Bernie opposes, Philly's proposed soda tax, which Sanders says promotes inequality because it's a disproportionate burden on the poor, paying the same tax as the rich per bottle but drinking more and spending a larger percentage of their income and this doesn't even address the folly of a sin tax aimed at raising money for social programs that also is aimed at reducing consumption and therefore reducing revenues.
