It's Colorado. The 'High' Is Implied
-
Collateral damage from the failure of the Sports Authority retail chain is that the name of the Denver Broncos stadium will have to change. And Colorado legislators are now weighing a bill to mandate that the next naming rights deal preserves the name Mile High Stadium, which would be fine if it isn't just part of a convoluted name like, oh, say, Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium, which is what the name is now, or Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium, which is what it was before that. Unfortunately, that's exactly the plan. And it's as pointless as Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Either it's Mile High or a corporate name. And everyone will continue to informally call it Mile High anyway. (Denver Post)
