Dead: Tony Barrow. Who? A publicist who was working at Decca Records in the U.K. in 1962 when he got an offer to double his salary to go work for a record store owner in Liverpool who had this band he wanted to push. Yep, for six years, he was the Beatles' publicist. And he was the guy who named them the Fab Four. Someone had to come up with it, and he did. He also came up with the idea of doing the Christmas records for fan club members and he was the one who used an early cassette recorder to capture the band's last concert at Candlestick Park. He later had his own firm working with The Kinks and the Bay City Rollers, but, man, the '60s must have been a hell of a ride for him. (New York Times)
