There's Always Ron Burgundy

This column notes that we don't have a single trusted network news anchor anymore. No Cronkite, no Huntley and Brinkley, not even a Brokaw. If a crisis happens, who will you turn to? I'm not sure there IS anyone but I'm not sure we NEED one. I mean, was there a single reassuring authoritative news anchor for 9/11? We all tuned back and forth among the cable and broadcast networks. The days when breaking, serious news came from an Uncle Walter have been gone since... since... I guess, since Uncle Walter retired. And with all the sources available via traditional, cable, Internet, and social media, is having one Voice of God news authority even a desirable thing?
