It's All Erica Kane's Fault

Dead: Agnes Nixon, who ruled daytime TV by creating "All My Children" and "One Life to Live." (Both based in a fictional version of Rosemont, PA, up the street from my old home, so cool.) Her story was interesting in itself: a product of a broken home, she had a tyrannical father who tried to dissuade her from writing by setting up a meeting with a prominent female writer, who instead offered her a job. And that led to an amazing career. She also agreed to marry her husband in 1950 on the condition that she be able to continue her career, which was something not done in 1950. (Los Angeles Times)
