But She'll Never Do It Again, Until The Next Time
-
A year ago, a woman who was texting while driving hit a man who was at the roadside getting his newspaper from a box. Now, she's been sentenced: probation and four days in jail, with the judge actually admonishing the victim's family and friends that everyone's looked away from the road while driving. The real reason she got a light plea bargain is more simple: They couldn't prove she was actually texting at the moment of the accident. What this is about is how damn near impossible it is to enforce anti-texting-while-driving laws. (Minneapolis Star Tribune)
