And It'll Only Inccrease The Disappointment If The Movie Sucks
-
The crush of "Star Wars" fans trying to order advance tickets for "Rogue One" created long queues at theaters and crashed Fandango for a while. And as in all of these kinds of stories, you have to ask what motivates people to want to be first, to buy tickets well in advance for a movie that will surely be around long enough to accomodate everyone. Do you need to be able to be in the conversation about a hot movie the moment it opens? Or can you wait? I wait, because there's basically no movie that has me that excited or that in need of being the first to comment - even when I was editing a premier nerd-culture website, I let our reviewers jump in and I waited until showings weren't sold out. Life's too short to waste time queuing up for a movie. (KABC-TV/Los Angeles)
