That's One Way To Beat The Wait In The ER
-
A guy walked into a hospital and shot himself in a suicide attempt, and the hospital immediately announced that it would put new procedures in place with metal detectors to prevent someone from bringing a gun inside again. And we saw the stories about the Fort Lauderdale shooter and the lack of security outside the, um, secure area of the airport. The topic is, do we want, or need, to put security and metal detectors everywhere? Or is that an overreaction? Because shootings can happen anywhere, and if we react to each incident by throwing up gates and scanners and security checkpoints, we soon won't be able to leave our houses without a background check.
