BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

I began my career in Highland Springs, VA in 2007 at 91.1 WHCE, where I was the Creative Services Director and morning show host and was notably bestowed the Personality of the Year Award for my self-branded program, "Jay R in the Morning."
After my studies at Richard Bland College with a major in mass communications in 2010, I relocated to Raleigh where I secured an internship with WDCG (G105 FM)
I then went on to be an on air personality at PULSE 102 FM and a TV Show Host of "RMZ" on CW 22. Then, I moved to Peoria, IL to be the night jock on 98.5 KISS FM. Now, I'm the night host on U92 in Salt Lake City, UT.
1) What led you to a career in radio?
I have this crazy passion for music and I wanted it to be a part of my life.
2) What are you doing social media-wise?
Everything I post, I try to grab the listener's attention, get them to share and like the post.
3) What is your favorite part of the job?
Being on air... I love cracking the mic every night with people listening just to be entertained.
4) Do you have a favorite hobby outside of radio?
Yes, I love producing remixes.
5) What advice you would give people new to the business?
Keep pushing for your place in this industry. It's going to seem like you will never get a big break but you will if you keep at it.
6) What music do you listen to when you're not working?
Reggae and Go-Go Music.
7) What is it about our industry that keeps you wanting to do it for a living?
I love being around creative people.
8) What was your favorite station to listen to when you were a kid?
Power 92 in Richmond, VA.
9) Who is your favorite on air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
Elvis Duran. He found a formula that gets all types of people to listen to him.
10) Who would be a "dream guest" to have on your show?
Kanye West.
