BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
Although the affinity to dj began while I was growing up in the Chicagoland area, I started mixing professionally in the early 90s in local clubs and private events throughout Southwest Florida. My radio career began in September of 2000 when I won a battle live on air at WBTT to secure the night mixer position with Big Momma and The Wild Bunch. I took advantage of the opportunity and learned all I could to advance my radio career. A year later, The Beat brought on The Freak Show in the morning when the tragedy of 9/11 occurred. After working so well with Flyin' Brian I became the #2 guy on the morning show and shortly there after became Mix Show Coordinator. Currently, I hold the position as Programming Assistant, as well as my other titles, and I look forward to continually learning and advancing my radio career.
1. What got you into radio?
Growing up in Gary, I had the opportunity to listen to WBMX and house legends like "the Godfather" Frankie Knuckles (R.I.P.), Jackmaster Farley, Bad Boy Bill, etc. Once I was old enough to attend events where they killed it live, I knew then, that's what I wanted to do. My opportunity for radio occurred in mid 2000 when I met Big Momma and one of my best friends to this day, DJ.Sway-Z.
2. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
If I could have one super power, I think it would be the power to see the future because if I knew it would take me this long to get where I'm at I would've become an insurance salesman
3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Well, when I was growing up I had an uncle "Cool Uncle John" who was a dj and from the moment he let me play with his set up at 10 yrs old, I was hooked.
4. Your boss, Eric is a Cali guy. Do you remember the first thing you told him about music in the market?
I told him to be ready for a culture shock, and he's going to love doing radio in Fort Myers, but it's definitely not the Bay Area.
5. What would probably surprise most people about your market?
How well we party, It's not a huge market but we definitely know how to get it crackin'. My DJs are top notch. Big ups to The Beat Mix Squad and Y100 Mix Syndicate.
6. What's your favorite song on the station right now?
Well, there's a lot of hot music out right now but if I had to choose one, it would probably be Tinashe - 2 On feat. Schoolboy Q.
7. If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?
Well before I was in radio fulltime, I worked in the medical field as a Phlebotomist. I enjoy caring for people so I like to believe I would still be in the medical field.
8. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love golfing and music festivals but my most cherished time is spent going to amusement parks and doing fun things with my family and friends.
9. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?
I would definitely want to be on the Price is Right so I can bid $1 over the person before me!

Well, if I didn't say John Legend, my real wife would kill me.
