Mumford & Sons highly anticipated second album, Babel was released on September 25th through Glassnote Records. "I Will Wait" was the first single to be released from the album on August 7th. Inspired by folk, rock, country, and bluegrass, the London-based Mumford & Sons feature singer/guitarist/drummer Marcus Mumford, vocalist and banjo/Dobro player Winston Marshall, vocalist/keyboardist Ben Lovett, and vocalist/bassist Ted Dwane. The foursome started playing together in 2007 and quickly became a part of London's underground folk scene.
The 2009 release of Mumford & Sons debut album, Sigh No More is certified 2x Platinum in the US. It featured #1 Alternative Radio hit singles "Little Lion Man" and "The Cave."
Mumford & Sons issued the following statement about their forthcoming album: "We are more than excited to release Babel into the world. We had started writing new songs well before we got into the studio to record. At first, we peeled ourselves off the road quite reluctantly. We love playing live, obviously, but it had also become an important part of our creative process, we had been writing and rehearsing in sound checks, and sort of 'road-testing' new songs on our very gracious audiences. But then we fell in love with recording again."
Mumford & Sons' Road To Red Rocks DVD will be released on November 26th.
