BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
Started with computer science. Decided I hated it. Started radio as a mixer/imaging assistant at WFBC. Expanded the mix show to a few other stations. Ended up at WHZT/Greenville.
1. How did you become interested in radio?
Vodka in a DJ booth with Tias Schuster. Seriously. Lots of vodka.
2. What has been X98.5's impact since launching in August 2012?
X98.5 offers a selection of music previously unheard in the upstate. New alternative was rarely given a chance until it made it to Top 40!
3. What is your biggest challenge programming a translator station?
The biggest challenge is operating from a translator. So far, things are moving along very well CUME is looking good. We're still new and growing daily. Luckily, our translator covers the most populated areas in our market. Is there any difference to the listener? Absolutely not. They find us the same way they find every other station.
4. What is X98.5's signal coverage in the market?
We cover the Greenville market completely; Greenville is the most populated county in our market. We also cover the eastern portion of Anderson and the western side of Spartanburg County. Luckily, we have a great position in the market.
5. Tell us about the 98 Minutes Of Extended Music on the station?
Who DOESN'T want more music with no interruptions? Twice a day, every day. We play an uninterrupted block of music. 98 minutes to be exact!
6. How aggressive is X98.5 with new music?
X 98.5 is one of the most aggressive stations out there. We're not waiting until a song hits top 10 before we add it!
7. What is most important to you when championing new music for the station?
"Alternative" is very broad. One song may sound like it belongs on the dance floor of the new club down the street, the next song may sound like bluegrass, and the song after that may sound like its one effects pedal away from being Active Rock! The diversity of the station is important to me. I love the fact that we're introducing more new music to the upstate and we're not one dimensional.
8. Fill in the blank: I can't make it through the day without _________?
Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
9. What may surprise people about X98.5?
The selection of new and current music NOT heard on any other station in the market!
10. What would surprise people most about you?
The fact that I NEED tea... Earl Grey... Hot... (and the fact that I'm quoting Star Trek.)
Bonus Questions
What are your hobbies?
I've recently started cooking. I've NEVER cooked. Always been a drive-thru guy. I actually enjoy cooking. Who would've known?

Computer Science. Nothing fun to talk about there. One contract to the next looking at thousands of lines of code.

I remember having "Eye Of The Tiger" on 45 as a child. Does that count?
First concert?
Milli Vanilli (Yes, seriously)
Favorite band of all-time?
I can't even BEGIN to answer this question. It really depends on my mood!
