1. What led you to WRZX?
Mapquest.com
2. In what ways has WRZX changed since you joined the station?
It still throws the rock down like no other. I think it's still a work in progress and we just launched a new morning show. One that I'm really excited about. I get a feeling that when I open a bar with Ryan Patrick in South Florida it will still be on the air here in Indy. The production changed, we promote things a tad differently. Originally that was due to less is more, but I'm really digging getting the message out quick whilst still being entertaining at the same time. Did I just use whilst in a sentence?
3. What do you like best about job? Least?
Marty Bender. Lee Anne Brooks. The Friday before a Colts game Scott Jameson tucks his jersey into his jeans. Who does that? We have a guy who works here who's real name is Drew Carey. You know... the people here rule.
Least? Ace Cosby (WFBQ's Music Director) stated that David Coverdale is "hands down the best singer in rock." I was only here for about 2 weeks. I said, "Ummm Ace what about Robert Plant?" He says, "Robert Plant is overrated." At that point my head came off. If it weren't for Robert Plant, David Coverdale would've had no clue what to do with the rest of his life. Granted some of the songs on 1987's self-titled Whitesnake record are pretty badass, but they are complete copies of ZEPPELIN songs. Why can't he see that?
4. What are you most passionate about?
Adlets. Mark my words... Adlets will take over the advertising world.
5. Using one sentence for each, how would you describe your on-air staff?
Don - He's Drunk.
Gunner - He's really drunk.
Nikki - She's Drunk.
Alex - He's high.
Seriously, they all work hard and play harder. They're a stable group that has been in the market for a while. Aside from all having far too much vacation time, you can't ask for a better group of people.6. What is the one truth that has held constant throughout your career?
If you can't change, you die.
7. Biggest highlight of your career?
It always seems to come down to height with you motherfuckers at all access doesn't it? You know FMQB never brings up height ...
8. Fill in the blank: I can't make it through the day without _________?
Air, water, and cookies.
9. What do you feel is the most important issue facing Alternative radio?
Survival. I could go in depth about this, but I think we all know the story.
10. If you could work for any radio station, where would it be and why?
I would like to be the BBC's morning guy. Think about what you can do with that job. You go to the pub and drink ale, roll in at like 6am, declare war on the queen, play stuff from Cream and Oasis. You could have a promotion where you give away a car if you can find the one guy from Manic Street Preachers who disappeared about 10 years ago, have a big bonfire where we would burn Blur CDs in effigy to cleanse your CD collections from shitty music, call Bono and try to work out a peace agreement, Tony Blair look alike contests, Fish & Chips Friday. There are so many things to do that you couldn't do here.
Bonus Questions
What are your hobbies?
You are kidding right?
