BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
Moved to Denver post Grad School for my first Promotion gig at Giant, migrated to RCA, then to Republic, and now back at RCA for the past 4 years.
1. It was 20 years ago you started as a Regional at Giant and then moved to RCA. How much has your job changed since you first got started in the biz?
There are so many more tools available to determine what music we need to chase. It moves quicker and smoother, and it’s always exciting to break new music.
2. Tell us about your role as Vice President Rock Promotion and working with Dennis Blair.
DB and I became friends in SF as locals for Maverick and RCA, respectively.
We worked together as nationals at RCA in LA, moved to Republic separately, then he hired me back to RCA as his partner for Alternative. He’s a master of this format and I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. I love working with him and respect what we do every day. Let’s go!
3. How would you describe your promotion style?
I tend to be very measured, organized, and detail oriented, and I think that comes through in my approach.
4. Music consumption has become a big piece of the promotion puzzle. How has this changed how you work singles to radio?
We have so many metrics to help identify a hit; the method of consumption continues to shift. It’s more immediate and exciting!
5. You have some big releases coming soon. Give us the 411 on your current projects at Alternative Radio and what’s on deck.
Rezz is an exciting new RCA artist! Cage The Elephant and Strokes have been persistently marching to the top through this crazy pandemic. We have major releases stacked up so it’ll being exciting rolling out the rest of the year. Here we go!
6. What is your favorite part of the job?
Making a difference, always.
7. What do you like best about living in in the valley?
I loved SO CAL since my first visit in college. I appreciated living near the beach and also love the valley. We have so many different daily experiences at our disposal.

9. You start your day super early. What was a normal workday like for you before the Coronavirus crisis changed everything?
I’m in bed by 10, up at 4 and get my day organized and strategize east to west. I love getting a head start in the morning and being up before sunrise. I always did!
10. Give us a rundown of your new work from home routine with you and your wife taking care of two kids and business.
My daily routine is more fluid, and I have to multi-task more than ever. It’s been an incredible experience, adapting to so many changes. I miss concerts and travelling to see my clients on a regular basis and can’t wait to get back to the new normal.

Always great to get away and spoil our family.

How often will you get back home and what are your top priorities when you get back to Boston?
My folks, family, & friends are always a priority when I get home every year or two…and hitting my favorite Boston restaurants, of course!
