Have an opinion? Add your comment below. I think ALT is going through a very poppy female friendly phase, so me coming from a female format couldn't have happened at a better time.

BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
Started after getting fired from radio station in college, dropped out of said college to get first full-time job as night jock. Spent next 20 years bouncing all over the east coast.
1. How did you first become interested in radio?
I was interning at 98PXY in Rochester, my hometown. I was doing promotions and sitting in with PD Mike Danger (night guy at the time) on his show. I already was into it, but once he played me the Greg Thunder "Smoker" air check it was over.
2. Tell us the story about your early days in Rochester Radio known as Busta.
Don't forget the NUTT lol. Busta Nutt was a character developed by the sales department to create more club business. it worked, I had 3 club nights a week. I was 19, hosting 3 nights a week getting $150 each night, my roommate was Jeff Hurley now an exec programmer at iHeart, we had the crappiest apartment, but loved every second of it. I never went to a real college or had a dorm or frat experience, but this was probably the same if not even better.
3. After the past several years in Syracuse, what led to your recent move back home to Rochester and PM Drive on 94.1 The Zone?
The universe man, haha. Mike McCoy (OM) started in July, he reached out to a former co-worker of mine in Pittsburgh asking if he was interested in coming to Rochester, he said he wasn't looking to relocate but said he knew a guy who was from Rochester and a free agent, and 2 months later here we are. haha
4. You’ve been part of Top 40 Radio for many years. How would you describe your on-air style, and have you made any changes since moving to The Zone?
I have always been energetic, so I think coming here I still carry that energy. I just pick and choose when to "turn it on." I think ALT is going through a very poppy female friendly phase, so me coming from a female format couldn't have happened at a better time.
5. What is your show prep routine and what are the benchmarks of your show?
I am still finding out what works for my show. I have a few features that have been reacting well. If that continues, they'll be future benchmarks. Prep, I have a service that kicks ass CoopedUp Prep from my former midday jock Sean "Coop" Tabbler at B94, I love it.
6. How are you using social media to augment what you’re doing on-air?
I was VT'd my entire 5 years at WWHT, so I've noticed phones aren't as active as I remember back before then. So, I supplement Facebook/twitter and Instagram comments into the conversation on-air whenever I do topics.
7. What do you love most about being on-air?
The real-time feel. I missed being live so much. I had taken the approach of doing 4 different 1 hour shows, not a 4-hour show. The ability to create something new each and every day is still a thrill for me.
8. Who is your favorite on-air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
All time, it's Tone E Fly, and Scotty Davis from KDWB. Since I have jumped to ALT, I have been listening to KROQ in LA a lot, and I am a fan of Stryker and Klein.
9. What would surprise people most about you?
I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and was in it till I was 19
10. Fill in the blank: I can't make it through the day without _________?
ENERGY drinks (Bang, and Reign are my go-to)
Bonus Questions
What are weekends like for you and your family?
Currently, we're actually moving tomorrow. So, we'll be unpacking for the next 3 months, we're those people. ha-ha
Tell us about your clothing company.
When I was in Pittsburgh (My 2nd hometown) there was a 412 clothing company; it was the coolest, all the pro athletes wore their stuff. When I was in Syracuse, I noticed there was nothing that was showcasing hometown pride without being Orange or tied to Syracuse University. I saw a niche, and I created 315Brand. I still do it here from Rochester, and it's been a great experience in learning branding that even radio didn't teach me.
What are your favorite places to eat in Rochester?
I haven't really discovered the new spots yet. Rochester has changed SO MUCH in the 20 years since I lived here. But no fear I already had a garbage plate since being back.
