BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
- 1989-1990 -- KLEL MD/Air Talent/Promotion Director. Received Exemplary Achievement Award, Radio Management.
- 1991-1992 - KSJO Promotion Coordinator/ X-Rock MD.
- 1992- 1999 -- KOME/KITS Assistant Promotion Director
- 1999- 2004 -- KSAN Promotion Director
- 2006- Present -KSJO/KCNL/eChannelMusic.com -- Director Of Programming. Launched Clear Channel Radios first online radio station not supported by a terrestrial dial position (eChannelmusic.com).
1. Why did Channel 104.9 recently move to Channel 92.3?
After a successful seven year run in San Jose, Clear Channel decided to invest in the Channel brand by upgrading the signal and strength.
2. Explain why the station decided to switch from KCNL to the KSJO call letters?
There is a stronger association in the marketplace with the heritage call letters.
3. How has the arrival of PPM in San Jose impacted the station?
It has completely leveled the playing field in terms of transparency.
4. What have been the PPM station ratings highlights so far?
Overall, we've seen some pretty explosive growth. The development of the brand alone is a lot more transparent. I expect us to be in a very healthy position as we reach a much wider audience in the Bay Area on our new signal.
5. What makes Channel 92.3 unique and stand out from the competition?
We pay homage to the forerunners of the Alt. format. Connecting the past, present, and future, to understand the format as a whole plays a key role in the creditable of our station.
6. What are you most proud of since joining the station?
Getting the station to a point where we could transition to a much larger signal. Our back-to-back record setting attendance with our summer series "Music in the Park"
Breaking new artists like The Tings Tings to a platinum level. Showcasing the future of the format like Hockey, The Temper Trap, Metric, etc.
7. What the latest on Solari's Soapbox?
It's a quick look at what inspires me musically and what is going on at the station, the inside scoop, behind the scenes on stuff that is about to happen or stuff that we are working towards.
8. What record surprised you the most in 2009?
Florence + The Machine: Lungs. The current single is very deceptive of the overall sound of the record. Very explosive with style and texture.
9. What do you remember most from your first few days in radio?
Learning radio from great teachers that have a passion for the business.
10. What's the one truth that has held constant throughout your career?
You need to love what you do, or you shouldn't be doing it.

What was the best concert you saw this year and why?
The Temper Trap, they blew me away in a live setting. Very intense and spot on tight. Go see this band live, you will not be disappointed.
