Superorganism
Jan 4, 2018

“Everybody Wants To Be Famous” is the newest single from the amorphous U.K. pop collective Superorganism. It will be on their forthcoming debut full length album due out on March 2nd via Domino Records. Lead singer Orono’s vocals are impassive on the song, and imperfect, as she delivers the song’s main idea—“It doesn’t matter the cost/Cause everybody wants to be famous”—with a creaky, half-spoken charm and conversational intimacy. On “Everybody Wants to Be Famous,” the far-flung Superorganism transcend their computer screen origins, finding something more tangible and down-to-earth.
Superorganism is a collective of pop wunderkinds pulled from all corners of the globe, including the U.K., Japan, and New Zealand. They made a splash in 2017 with their debut single “Something For Your M.I.N.D.”. Their follow-up releases, “It’s All Good” and “Nobody Cares”, continued to earn them more attention, such as seals of approval from Frank Ocean and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and a deal with indie record label Domino.
The band kick off a Spring U.S. tour beginning with SXSW in March.
