New Albany, Indiana-based band Houndmouth release d their major label debut single via Warner Bros./Reprise Records single, “This Party,” is high-energy and ultra-melodic, described by guitarist/vocalist Matt Myers as “a party song about not wanting to be at a party.” The track was co-produced by Jonathan Rado (Foxygen, Lemon Twigs) and Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, The War On Drugs). Houndmouth is currently putting the finishing touches on their upcoming studio album expected this summer with Rado and Everett co-producing.
“We’re not in party mode all the time anymore,” said Houndmouth guitarist and vocalist Matt Myers. “We’re refining how we write songs, writing about people we love, more important things than just nonsensical stuff.”
Houndmouth was formed in 2011 and the band now consists of Matt Myers (guitar & vocals), Zak Appleby (bass & vocals) and Shane Cody (drums & vocals). In 2013 their debut album, “From The Hills Below The City” was released and this led to performances on Letterman, Conan and more. Their second album, “Little Neon Limelight,” was released in 2015. It included their breakthrough single "Sedona."
In April 2016, Houndmouth announced Kate Toupin (keyboard, vocals) left the group to pursue other opportunities.
Houndmouth is currently on tour in the U.S. throughout the summer.
